We are relisting this item since the previous listing did not describe this wonderful item accurately. Up for auction is a beautifully painted Canvasback Drake decoy head by Michigan's Larry Hayden, ca. 1970. This head is a resin casting (from one of Hayden's wood carvings) that is off of a decoy from Hayden's personal hunting rig. There were fewer than a dozen of these castings made. Hayden is a legend among wildlife artists. His work has won nearly every major wildlife art competition that he has entered. His limited edition prints consistently sold out almost before they were pulled from the presses, and his finely detailed decoys have raised the standards by which decoys are judged. Hayden's decoys have won the highest honors in every contest in which he has competed, including the U.S. National Show (New York), the Canadian National Show (Toronto), the Midwest Decoy Contest (Michigan), and the International Decoy Contest (Iowa). He is the only five-time Best of Show winner in floating decorative art at the World Championship Contest.This decoy head a terrific example of Hayden's fine painting skills.
