This store is a collection of vintage perfume bottles from the estate of Marie-Louise Fredyma, my mother who passed away in 2010 after nearly 70 years in the antique business. Marie's perfumes were a special place in her collection of antiques and vintage items and are now offered for sale as part of her estate. Description: Vintage Mary Dunhill 1943 Escape Perfume Bottle & Box. Bottle is sealed and 1/3 full of original fragrance. Seal is plastic. Front label on bottle states "3 FL OZ Escape Toilet Water Mary Dunhill Inc. Distributors NY". Bottle has label on bottom stating "Retail Ceiling Price $5.00 (M.R.P. 393). Bottle has original gold thread around base of neck of bottle. Box is green and black with label on botton on right side "Escape Mary Dunhill Inc.". Second label at base has "Toilet Water Distr. New York 3 FL OZ". Background: Mary Dunhill was the daughter of Alfred Dunhill, the founder of a company in London that sold a variety of luxury items. Mary introduced her line of perfume at Dunhill's in 1934. Eight different fragrances were made between 1934 and 1941. She became a director of Alfred Dunhill Ltd. in 1943 and chairman in 1961.
