This listing is for an impressive two-piece set of mid-century art glass from Higgins. Higgins Glass was formed in 1948 and was known for its fused art glass designs that are "Kandinsky-esque." Pieces of Higgins art glass are found in museums, including the Chicago Art Institute. This set is in a rich purple color with a blue and yellowish-green abstract design. The bowl sits nicely in the middle of the plate/tray/charger, or the two pieces can be used separately. The bowl measures 12 inches in diameter at the top and it is about 3 inches deep. The underplate or charger is an impressive 16 inches in diameter. Both pieces are signed and they are in pristine condition.
