Vintage 17" Sheaffer's desk lamp. Takes a 17" florescent bulb, stands 14" high, 20" across, base is 11" x 5". Very old, came out of an estate sale, the son told me his mother was nurse to the first woman doctor in the city, and this light came out of her office. Pretty copper vanes on the top with copper accents on the base. The copper seems to be a underlay, coating has worn through in places, mostly on the base, and you can see the copper underneath. Assume the hole at the base is for a pen and holder. Graceful curve to the light support, very heavy. Does work, no hum and it still has the "Sheaffer's" label at the back. These appear to be quite rare, very few examples to be found on the net. Lovely Art Deco / Machine Age styling, elegant and sturdy. Lovely piece for a collector, an office or den, a table lamp, or a gift -- holidays are coming. Thanks for looking, if you have any questions, please email me.
