This style has been copied extensively, and probably originated with the Mayans or Aztecs, who did beautiful mosaic work. The newer bracelets usually consist of thin silver inlaid with finely ground turquoise or coral mixed with epoxy. In the vintage Native American ones you can see the individual pieces of stone, and the silver is heavier. This bracelet has nice, even stamp-work around the inlaid section, and the silver is not flimsy, weighing over 34 gms. The inside diameter is 2 3/8'' with an opening of 1 1/4'', and there is no missing inlay. (Be careful trying to adjust inlay bracelets, as movement of the silver may cause the inlay to pop out!)
