Since you have clicked on this item, I am going to assume that you are familiar with molas. They are created by the Kuna Indians of San Blase Island in Panama and are used as part of their garments. They are unique pieces of art and needlework that use reverse applique, regular applique, and embroidery to create animals and designs in bright colors. The photographs of this mola really do not do justice to the detail, quality of workmanship or vibrancy of colors of this mola. Please note , the red top color is brighter and more of a bright maroon than it appears in the photograph. This is a vintage mola; I've had it for over thiry years, and it was not new when I obtained it. In my opinion, the older molas are of a higher quality of design and workmanship than the newer ones. This molar is constructed from eight colors of fabric for the reverse applique: black, maroon, bright blue, pink, and orange. These colors are repeated with regular applique with the additon of purple, two greens, and another blue. The embroidery adds to the detail on the feet and head. Please note the very even sizing of the "lines". It measures 16 1/2 by 13 inches. This is a colorful turkey with a wonderful tail and body. If you purchase and decide that it is not as represented or you do not like it, I will pay return shipping!
