You are bidding on a $1 VA Treasury Note. In the center picture, a lady sits by the shore holding a bucket with ships in the background. Issued in Richmond Virginia. It features a large red ONE printed lower center, and the number 1 surrounded by a red design in the upper right and left hand corners. The back is blank. Hand signed by: Bennett and Hughes Issue date: July 21, 1862 Serial No: 10248 Letter: C Size: over 7.5 x 3.25" Printed by: Hoyer & Ludwig of Richmond (these dudes also printed notes for the Confederacy!)
