You are bidding on a W.H. Grindley of Staffordshire, England . This is a pattern produced by Grindley in 1896 known as Argyle. This is the oval serving platter which is 15 " long and 11" wide. This pattern is hard to find and quite collectible. It has a feathery design, with good flow and a nice deep cobalt blue. The rim has a relief molded scroll design accented with hand applied gold. The platter is in good conditionon. The platter is marked on the back with the dark blue Grindley mark along with the R.N. 289457 with the letters F and B below this. This is a beautiful piece of Flow Blue. Great condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. T is a tiny tiny brown spot anda small white spot both under the glaze done in the manufacturing of the dish. I am told these are extremely normal for a plate of this age. email any questions. Thanks for looking
