During WW2....the German Army had to find a way to identify their Ground Vehicles so the Luftwaffe could see them....and wouldnt strafe them by accident.....So they used what is called the MALTESE CROSS ..Sometimes also Referred to as the BALTIC CROSS VEHICLE FLAG...or more commonly known in Collecting Circles as a "GERMAN TANK FLAG"....These were used on the backs of Armor and also would be placed across the Hoods or Tops of Kubelwagens....Trucks...etc..etc....T is a whole school of "Experts" out t who say the Flags were made after the war for the American GIs for "War Souvenirs"...then t is the other thought that they were Late War Issue.....and this Battle will rage on forever it seems......Be that as it may.....This is a SUPER MADE FLAG......Cotton...measures 48" Wide...by 24" Tall...and is One-Sided....Just as the "Originals"......It has Stitched Edges....and all the parts of it are Separately made....the White Circle is one piece...The Maltese Cross is one Piece...and the Red Part of the Flag is one piece.....They were all sewed together to make a SUPER Flag..And t are Brass Grommets for tying down in each of the 4 Corners as t should be.........The Vehicle Flag will look Fantastic in a WW2 Display as a backdrop...This is a QUALITY FLAG....It is Not a cheap printed Flag as usally seen for sale elsew..Happy Bidding........(. read more
