Wireman, a.k.a. Eugenie "Jenny" Wireman Dawson (1874-1961). A student of Howard Pyle at Drexel in 1899. Eugenie, while a student at Drexel, invited her friend AND classmate Katharine Richardson Wireman to live with her family and ended up marrying Eugenie's brother, Henry, in 1905. She was the illustrator of Miss Philura's Wedding Gown by Florence Kingsley that was published about 1912. Our collection includes many portraits of men, women and children, as well as a collection of nude portraits. Each piece will be posted in a separate auction over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for Eugenie Wireman Dawson in our titles and don't miss out!In this auction we have an antique preliminary charcoal drawing. This is signed on the bottom left of the portrait "EWD" for Eugenie Wireman Dawson (who died in 1961). This piece of expressionism depicts the bust portrait of a beautiful...keep scrolling there are 13 pictures and more description beneath the photos below!woman with a head full of curls brushing down the side of her content expressed face. This measures approx. 23 3/4" x 17 7/8" and is shabby chic due to the age appropriate wear, the tears (with a decent loss of the bottom left corner) along the edges of the paper (some extensive), rolling/folding creases, the slight toning and charcoal smudging throughout.
