This Kaleidoscope is constructed with the finest first surface aluminized mirror. The glass is multi-color, similar to carnival glass - check out the colors in several of the photos. That is what gives you the wonderful optical quality. Once you compared a kaleidoscope with front surface mirror with one of lesser quality you immediately understand the difference. Both ends are sealed to keep dust out..... dust can ruin your view! It is about 8.5 inches long, which includes the wheel. Standing on top of the triangular shape is a pewter wizard and crystal! One side is signed (etched) by the glass artist (see photo). It has two front legs to make it display beautifully! I purchased this years ago at a craft fair in Sedona Arizona - paid $225.00 for it then! I really don't want to part with it, but it has been sitting in a display cabinet and is ready for a new home! It is beautiful - you won't be disappointed. It is much more beautiful in person! It is in mint condition - as if it was just purchased. Check out my other items !
