Beautiful Vintage Mid-Century Modern Myott Staffordshire England "Forget-Me-Not" China - M970 P.U. "Fine Staffordshire Ware" China features Blue Flowers on Cream background with swirled rims and scalloped edges. Discontinued. Circa likely 1960's.Myott, Son & Co (Ltd) was an earthenware manufacturer originally in Stoke, and then from 1902 at Cobridge Stoke-on-Trent, England. Myott, Son & Co. was founded in 1898 in Staffordshire England and produced some high quality products over its years. It made some stellar art deco pottery, and also produced some excellent chintz patterns. Following the popular floral chintz era they produced more open floral patterns such as this very popular "Forget Me Not" which dates from the fifties to sixties. In March of 1974, Myott acquired the share capital of Alfred Meakin. Both businesses continued to operate under their own names until the formation of Myott-Meakin Ltd in 1976.Condition: This china set has been used and accordingly does not appear new. There are no cracked pieces but several of the dinner plates have small (1/4 inch or less) chips under the rims only and most pieces show crazing to the glaze.
