10" CRIMPED BOWL HEAVILY CUT GLASS AMERICAN BRILLIANT PERIOD NO RESERVE Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album GLASS CUTTER / PATTERN NAME: The glass cutter and pattern name is unknown to me. This piece definitely has the look and quality of some of the better cut glass that was made in the American Brilliant Period. AGE: This piece was probably made in the very early 1900's. BLACK LIGHT TEST RESULTS: Confirms American Brilliant Period (approximately 1876-1916) MEASUREMENTS: It measures 9-3/4" to 10" in diameter at its widest points and is 3" high. WEIGHT / RING: It weighs a hefty 4.6 pounds and has a beautiful long lasting ring when tapped. BLANK / GLASS CLARITY: I'm unsure how this crimped blank was created, but there are no signs that it is a figured blank. The glass is bright and clear. CUTTING DETAILS: The main miters have nice depth and the overall precision is very good. POLISHING QUALITY: The finish looks and feels very crisp. CONDITION REPORT (ALWAYS VERY PICKY): The teeth are in great shape and I had to search hard to find just a couple of pencil point sized nicks on them. The side pattern area looks nearly perfect with just one tiny chip that is only 1/16" in size. On the bottom outer edge of the pattern is a hard to see very shallow chip that is 1/8" in size and another still attached chip that would be about this same size if it were to separate. The bottom shows minor wear scratches on the high spots and the top interior has just a few fine scratches if you look hard for them. FINAL COMMENTS: This piece combines an uncommon crimped blank with high quality heavy cutting. The pattern has a cool atomic type design in its center that can be best seen in my last picture. This eye-catching flashy piece will display very well. BIDDING FORMAT: There is no reserve with a $9 starting price. This is my favorite way to sell even high-priced items. I will never under any conditions end my auctions early to sell to an anxious buyer requesting a buy it now. SHIPPING & INSURANCE: A flat rate for shipping with insurance included by USPS Parcel Select (formerly called Parcel Post) to anywhere in the U.S.A. will be $10. This method may take longer, but should save money for both of us. I don't ship my cut glass outside of the U.S.A. Please don't ask me to make an exception just for you. I will gladly combine multiple purchases at a reduced rate based on the buyer's location. I am a member of the American Cut Glass Association. I subscribe to the ACGA Code of Ethics. I regularly buy quality cut glass and I hope to have plenty more to offer in my future Ebay listings. I'm very much into cut glass, but I'm not your typical cut glass collector and dealer. I prefer to enjoy this glass for short periods of time and everything that I buy will eventually be sold. Because of this strategy I'm able to sell even the most desirable and rare pieces that I can find and not keep them for myself. Many serious cut glass collectors have benefited because of this and I also hope to keep the casual or beginner buyers happy with some desirable cut glass also.
