Plutarch's Morals by Matthew MorganLondon, Printed by Tho. Braddyll, and are to be sold by most booksellers in London and Westminster, 1704. English : 4th ed. corrected and amended477 pages8" x 5"Good condition, no foxspotting with the exception of the first few pages from the covers (see photos). The interior pages are remarkably bright (see photos). Paper is thick and textured. The covers are leather-bound board, not attached to the spine, though the spin itself is solid. There is only one loose page, the first page from the front cover. The photos show an inked ownership inscription and a square cut out of the paper where a previous owner's name appears to have been inked.Plutarch upon becoming a Roman citizen, Lucius Mestrius Plutarchus (c. AD 46 - AD 120) was a Greek historian, biographer, and essayist, known primarily for his Parallel Lives and Moralia. He is classified as a Middle Platonist. Plutarch's surviving works were written in Greek, but intended for both Greek and Roman readers.
