is a 18th century / Napoleonic wars period British naval artillery water bucket used to cool down the cannon barrel after firing. The initials 'S.B' have been engraved on the front. With genuine age patination to surface and retaining its original handle. T are a couple of cracks to the base edge from age usage. This naval artillery water bucket originally was saved from a shipyard which was being developed in Portsmouth many years ago. Measuring 22cm high and 24cm wide. I have included a photo of one of the levels inside HMS Victory which shows similar iron bound buckets and barrels. Please look at my other genuine rare items on ebay.
