Antique Carved Black Forest Bear Thimble Holder Carved in Switzerland - circa 1900 Included Child Size Thimble Size: Approximately 2.50 inches tall This cute little antique bear is holding a barrel between his legs with a thimble inside. The bear has black steel eyes, with sharp white teeth, and a painted red mouth. The bear is wonderfully hand carved in detail. He is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. I believe the thimble is original to the bear and is a small child size. The thimble is a goldtone color and shows age patina with no holes or damage. It fits perfectly inside the holder. This bear is called a black carving, and was actually carved in Switzerland. Shipping is free to lower US states. Comes from a smoke free enviroment.
