Early White Homespun Linen Fabric - Germany - 1900's This gorgeous, very antique, early linen flax fabric nightshirt has wonderful texture. It was loomed from early linen flax and the width of the loom can be determined by the seams in the fabric. The two main pieces of fabric were joined to ultimately make the entire project. The size of this item is 39" long, 31" across the bottom, 25" shoulder to shoulder and 25" from armpit to armpit. This piece has been cross stitched in red with the initial "M". The collar closes with the original small white button. T is one small pale blue discoloration on the front left of the shirt. No rust or age spots. I did not wash or attempt to restore the linen. I have lived in a very rural part of Germany for the last 6 years and just love these great pieces of homespun. They are becoming more difficult to find all the time. I will be listing more of these great homespun pieces in the near future.
