ANTIQUE JAPANESE SAMURAI ARMOR "SUJI-KABUTO" This auction features a **MAGNIFICENT** EDO PERIOD (18th Century) JAPANESE SAMURAI SUJI-KABUTO. This beautiful KABUTO has TWELVE "KEN" (Plates), a RUSSET IRON FINISH, and a VERY GOOD QUALITY, THREE TIER, MIXED METAL "TEHEN-KANAMONO" (Peak). It also has BLACK LACQUER "FUKIGAESHI" (Turn Backs), with HEAVY GILT "MON" (Crest). MON is possibly from the "ITAKURA" family. It also has a Lacqured, IRON FIVE LAME close fitting, "HINERO JIKORO" (Neckguard), with BLUE LACE "SUGAKI-ODASHI" (Spaced Lacing). The interior has been professionally restored to original condition in Japan, with correct textiles & doe skin headband. It has a RED LACQUERED INTERIOR VISOR. This magnificent helmet is believed to be signed by "MUNESADA" of the early 18th century EDO Period. Most of this listing is taken from is information that I was given when I bought this unique piece of history in 2003 of of Ebay. The pictures were taken by myself.
