Antique Roseville Utility Cow Pitcher You are looking at an example of the early Roseville utility pitchers. This Roseville Cow Pitcher measures 6.5" tall and approximately 6" diameter (not including the handle). Among the early Roseville pitchers, the cow is somewhat rare, especially in good condition since they were extensively used. This pitcher has excellent color and clarity of the mold, its features showing high relief. It does have some spout damage, and has the extensive crazing usually seen in these pitchers. Nevertheless, this pitcher is in much better condition than the majority of early Roseville utility pitchers simply due to the fact they were used so much in homes. It is colorfully, though casually, hand painted and features a brown cow standing in tall grass and sheltered under a canopy of thick leaves. The background is against a creamy oatmeal with a light green trim darkening at the top and bottom. These pitchers are snatched up for their charm and are a lovely decorator piece. It should be noted the cow pitcher was made in 2 sizes, a 6.5" and a 7.5", This particular 6.5" size is the more rare of the two cow pitchers. This is an excellent opportunity to add this Roseville piece to your collection, since no reserve has been set on the piece.
