FOR SALE ANTIQUE H. STAGER, LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA 5 COLOR JACQUARD COVERLEt MEASURES: 82" X 86" Marked along lower margin Made By H Stager Lancaster Co. Pa. Fast Color No. 1 ; with central mediation with eagles in inner corner blocks, sitting birds in outer with shield border Coverlet is in excellent condition with no tears, bare patches or color fading, all the fringe is complete and in tact. It is a double sided Coverlet both sides are Identical. There is one small stain (pictured) in the center of the cover and some faint staining along the outer edge where the writing is, but hardly visible in normal light, only saw it when I set up my photo light to take pictures. This is truly a great old piece and unusual with the 5 colors. A must have for any keen collector. Henry F. Stager (ca 1820-1888), born in Pennsylvania, was weaving in Mount Joy (Lancaster County) by 1843. He is identified as a weaver as late as 1870 (U.S. Census). Posted with eBay Mobile
