WHAT A LOVELY HIGH QUALITY GEORGE V TEA SERVICE! Here we have a quite splendid solid silver 3 piece Birmingham made tea service of most breathtaking and highly typical art deco form. All pieces are assayed in Birmingham,1932 by makers M&J.Year letter H. I cannot trace this maker, any information is thus welcomed. For reference teapot is 6 inches in height and 12.25 inches in diameter,it is thus of very good size. A stunning pot,its weight is a sublime 714 grams. Crucially handle and finial is firm and secure. Sugar bowl is 3.75 inches in height and 7.5 inches in diameter.Weight is a sublime 266 grams. Cream jug is 3.25 inches in height and 5.25 inches in diameter.Weight is a considerable 165 grams. The total weight of this awesome set is a staggering 1145 grams or 36.82 troy ounces. Their condition is quite sensational.Clearly they have been very well looked after and only used on special occasions..the only flaw is a tiny ding to the creamer which i mention for accuracy. All pieces are unengraved and always have been. All pieces sit on an oval base. ALL IN ALL A QUITE LOVELY VERY HEAVY ANTIQUE TEA SET OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND. Would cost an obscene amount in a good retail outlet-if you could find one quite so nice... Teasets are hard to find nowadays as most have been scrapped due to the sky high price
