This set of deep Cobalt Blue Glass Revolvers came into our shop several months ago along with a number of other unusual pieces. After a bit of research this is what I've came up with. Apparently the Westmoreland "Specialty Comapny" firstintroduced this sold glass Revolver in 1932... but in crystal only... and sold for ten cents. The Solid Glass Revolver was released again in 1973 along with 14 other items that the company called their "Classics in Glass". They were described as "Typical of Wares Produced by Colonial Craftsmen". My reference book does not specify the glass colors used in the later release. They were then seperated from the base... and the but ends of the Revolvers were ground smooth... but to my knowledge... never polished. I've seen single Revolvers over the years... but this is my first incounter with a pair that's not be seperated form their base. This pair stands just a bit shy of 6 & 3/4 inches tall... a bit over 5 ½ inches from hammer to hammer which is the widest point... and 3 ¼ inches across the bottom of the hand ground base. I see a slight "as-made" imperfection on the end of the one barrel. It's not real noticable... but t Other than that... this pair appears to be in a very nice condition.
