Overall length: 42". Blade length: 37 1/4". A nice example of a late production 2nd Model Virginia Manufactory iron hilted saber. This saber was manufactured w/ a blade length of 37 1/4" & has not been shortened from a longer blade. The heavily curved blade has a single wide fuller below a single narrow fuller. Spine is unmarked. 7 Slot iron guard w/ a sword knot slot near the pommel. Brass single wire wrapped, leather grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a gray mottled patina w/ evidence of kind cleaning. Hilt is quite solid. Wire is 100%. Leather is worn but 100% intact. Grip may be an early museum quality replacement.
