Ok, anyone seen an Early Archaic ( Late Paleo) point with a tip like this? Length of the Hornstone is 2&15/16", width is 1&1/4", some 5/16" thickness on a center "stack", but mostly thinner. Basal/ lateral edge grinding is decent, but not heavy--patina of the stone is extra heavy. The base is classic Greenbrier, nice small auricles. The notched-in balde was obviously used this way, usage polish in the in-curvate side, and polish to the sides of the tip indicate usage as a reamer--makes sense, looking at the profile. The piece is from the D. Farris collection, Livingston county,Kentucky, and is lifetime guaranteed authentic in every detail. shipping is $3.00, with personal checks or money orders the accepted (and welcomed) payment forms--Roy A.
