This is a new handmade steel bit made by Don Pierce. It is mounted with engraved german silver. It has two large german silver conchos mounted with jeweler bronzed steer heads. The bit is marked PIERCE with his trademark longhorn as shown in the picture. Don is a bit and spur maker from Golden, Colorado. He is listed in " Old Cowboy Saddles & Spurs " by Gretchen & Mike Graham. A picture of one of his bits is shown on page 229. Don learned bit and spur making from Gene Rogers in Golden, Colorado. Don has been making bits and spurs since 2001. He does really nice work that is sought after by cowboys and collectors alike. The bit has a 5" mouth and 7" cheek pieces.
