This is a pretty plate that bears the white ware mark of HAVILAND FRANCE (LIMOGES) and the decorating mark of the STOUFFER China Decorating Company in Chicago. The plate is hand painted and signed on the front by the artist Isadore BARDOS, who worked for Stouffer in the late 1920 s after working for Pickard from 1905 to 1922. (Reference "Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China") The plate is decorated with three bouquets of lilies of the valley tied by pink ribbons; a gold border embellishes the plate. The edge is gilded. The background is white and yellow. The plate has a diameter of 9 3/4" and is free of chips, cracks or hairlines. Some thin scratches are visible on the gold around and some wear is visible on the gold in the center of the plate. A unique plate for a collection. Please see my other items for more Limoges plates.
