HOPI CLOWN Riding Horse Hand-Made Wood FIGURINE Kachina Description You are bidding on a beautiful, hand-made wooden Hopi Clown figurine. While the clowns are not technically "kachinas," they are part of Hopi ceremonies as they often demonstrate improper behavior or some other form of social commentary. This figure is made of a very light type of wood. The figure is riding with his head down on an appaloosa horse. The horse hair is made of some kind of soft, feathery fur. The clown is wearing the typical black and white striped cap and the tassels are made of a leather or suede material. The bottom of this piece is signed in blue ink pen (see photos). Condition: Very good condition. The only damage is to one of the horns on the hat, which has come unglued and can easily fall out. This could certainly be re-glued. Measurements: 8" tall, about 7" long. Please check out my other auctions for many different types of items including jewelry, antiques, crystal, china, and more.
