victorian_lady J W Pankhurst Ironstone Coverd Vegetable Tureen Bowl This antique J. W. Pankhurst white ironstone covered vegetable tureen/bowl is from the 1870s. Pieces marked J. W. Pankhurst mark were from 1852-1882. The tureen is marked on the bottom: Logo, Stone China, J. W. Pankhurst, Hanley. This is a gorgeous piece in Star Flower pattern The lid has a gourd finial and the edges of the lid and bowl are embossed with star flowers. The glaze is shiny and t is no discoloration. T are no cracks, no chips and no repairs. T are the usual stilt marks and tiny glaze pops typical of a piece of this age. These are done in the manufacturing process and do not detract from the value or beauty of the piece. The piece is not worn or scratched. The tureen with lid on is 12" long x 7 1/2" tall x 7 1/2" wide. This would be a spectacular addition to your collection.
