Bidding is on a vintage late 20s -early 30s Lalique box w/ lid made for the d'orsay perfume co. The container is decorated on the sides with a vine and leaf pattern raised up from the frosted glass sides. The lid is sculpted with three dancing figures, perhaps the three graces. [t was a note my grandmother placed in the container complaining about an over-zealous maid who scrubbed off some ink-stamped writing on the bottom that said, "Le Bandy ________{and this third word I can not make out. She just said it was the 'name of the box'.] However, the bottom of the box is still signed raised letters in a bold font: R. Lalique. The flaw-seen in photo #5 and #6 is on the rim of the lid. It is a very small 'back' chip which does not show under normal lighting conditions and when the box is displayed properly, with dancing figures facing up, this flaw faces away from view. I photographed the chip under as strong a light as I could so t would be no question as to this flaws existence. Again-t is a tiny, less than one eighth of an inch back-chip read more
