I had this listed as a Japanese mask until an astute ebayer emailed me to tell me this was actually an African Puno Gabon mask. It is made of plaster and looks like a mold of some type-do not know age but along the inside edge is 1811 and two names adorning each side of the date if that is what the number represents--the right ear has a small defect where someone replastered then repainted a portion of the ear lobe. Measures: 11 1/2" tall x 6 1/2" wide by 6 1/2" deep. Because of the defect to ear, really minimal, must sell as is.
