Offering The Society of Medalists Issue 83 from 1971. The sculptor is Hal Reed. It has been struck in bronze and is 73 mm (about 2 7/8") across.The obverse features the co-joined portraits of four scientists, named around the outer edge "Albert Einstein, Ernest Rutherford, Niels Bohr, Otto Hahn.The reverse shows two figures. One is kneeling, bound at the wrists and the other is shown emerging with his bonds broken. At the top is "Unleashing the Atom".As you will see from the photos, the medal is in excellent condition.The original box is included. Please note that box has some splits. All items ship within 24 hours of receipt of cleared payment!
