This very rare Edison plaque was made at the new Steuben glass works at Corning glass. Frederick Carder came to Corning to Manage Steuben glass works IN 1903. The plaque is marked 1929 CGW for Carder Glass Works. Henery Ford had these plaques made by Steuben Glass for his guests at a dinner party for Thomas Edison for the 50th anniversary of the invention of the light bulb 1879-1929. It is belived that 350 of these were made. It is deeply cast from the back to give a three dimension image. This was a private commission and never sold to the public. ****It is 6 1/2" wide X 8 1/2" High X 3/4" thick and weighs 4 lbs. 4 ozs.******
