Detailed Vintage HandCarved Wooden Ritual Spoon in the form of a beautiful young female in the nude as the handle to this oversized spoon. Masterfully crafted with smooth lines and old dark matte finish. Excellent patina. Stands without any supports. This will be a real headturner in any collection. Approximate dimensions of this spoon are 18½" tall x 3¾" wide. Depicts traditional african tribal designs (i.e. hairstyle of girl) and a beautiful young female body. This large iconic spoon sculpture is from the lifelong collection of phsycology professor Dr. Samuel Klayman. Professor Sam Klayman, whose lonely & tragic life ended a few months ago as a very old man, was a long time collector of authentic African ritual and ceremonial items (including but not limited to voodoo & witchcraft pieces.) Even the furniture of his apartment was in the majority rough handcrafted collection pieces from Africa. Every wall in his home was covered from the cieling till midway to the floor with hundreds of ritual masks, icons and figures some with extreme erotic conotations. Along with these masks he collected an extensive amount of authoratative books on this subject as well as thousands of first print science fiction and horor novels.
