Up for sale is this 1989 Paladine H. Roye "Wolf Brothers" Print in color on paper. It is signed in pen in the lower right and left corners. It is from the regular numbered edition of 650. I purchased this artwork from an estate sale auction in New Mexico. It is in excellent condition. Dark wood frame with blue matting. The matting appears to have some clouding on the lower left side.This print is number 239 of a limited edition of 650.Measurements: Paper: 19.75" L x .5 W x 13.75" H Framed: 26 7/8" L x 1" W x 20 7/8" HHistory: Paladine H. Roye was born December 8, 1946 in White Eagle, Oklahoma. He was a full blood, enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma. His Ponca name was Pon-Cee-Cee, which means, "watch out for this one." He graduated from high school and served in the Vietnam War.He became a full-time painter in 1979, working in water color, acrylic, gouache, and prints. Paladine Roye often collaborated with his brother, Burgess Roye.In 1982, to celebrate 75 years of Oklahoma statehood, the Garfield County Historical Society and the Museum of the Cherokee Strip help Indian Week. They featured art by Paladine and Burgess Roye and their mother, Doris Roye. In 1996, the pair painted large murals on the Garfield County, Oklahoma Courthouse in order to pay off fines for a DUI.Roye's work has been featured in the following read more
