For your consideration is this Certosa di Firenze monastic pilgrim's flask. The flask is marked 253 on the bottom, and there is a symbol on the front and original cork sticker with the symbol for Certosa di Firenze (translated means "Charterhouse"). The use of the term Certosa is specific to the Monasteries of the Carthusian Order of Monks established by Saint Bruno in 1084 in the Chartreuse Mountains of the French Alps. The flask seems to be vintage and was probably made in Italy in the early to mid 20th century. This flask has the original cork. There is a picture of leaves on the back of the flask. This flask measures 3" tall by 2 1/2" wide by 3/4" deep, and it is in great condition. There are a few small chips and fleabites around the edges of the flask. I don't see any crazing, but there are some spots typical of pottery this old. This would be an ideal item to add to a collection! Please view pictures for more details.
