This is the LAST one of these I have to sell and I have discounted the price by 20%. There is nothing wrong with tool, and it is not a "second." This model cannot be partially dismantled to fit into a Flate Rate box, and the USPS has eliminated Parcel Post shipments. The increased shipping costs are the reason for my discontinuing this version. Shipping will be by regular Priority Mail, and shipping is not unreasonable if the buyer lives in the eastern half of the US. I am also including a FREE video ($5.00 value) to try and offset some of that shipping cost. In years past I have taken one or more of these tools to knap-ins. I am always amazed at how quickly young boys, in the age range of 9 to 12, have learned the basics of use in VERY short order can learn the basics and begin using this jig to make nice points with. And I think this tool would make a great gift for a boy or girl in that age group who is experiencing problems learning to pressure flake. I also think (and yes I am biased) it would make a great gift for those knappers who have become frustrated because they can no longer to pressure flake like they once could. In my case this inability was the result of arthritis along with muscle and nerve atropy in my shoulders, wrists and hands. This listing is for my "In-the-White" version of the LPF2 I have sold on eBay for some time. This version utilizes ALL the materials listed for the LPF2. All cuts are made, and the EPDM and Neoprene (the Neoprene on this model is MILITARY grade 3/32 inch thick)have been bonded with high-strenth industrial-grade adhesive to the corresponging wooden parts. All homes have been drilled, and all the screws, bolts, washers, and nuts have been installed. I have sanded all end cuts (and any rough areas) with 80 grit paper at high speed. I have not performed the final contouring on the bottom of the 2X6 that is used for the incline or "v-notch" board, nor have I performed the final sanding with 100 grit. I have not stained the wooden parts. Finally, I have not used as many brads around the perimeter of the neoprene with brads like I do on the regular LPF2 (these brad should not be needed anyway since I use genuine 3M's 90 adhesive for laminating the neoprene to the lumber surface on this part). These are all steps that the average "handyman" can do with handtools, sander, etc. By me not having to do these things I am able to take about 3 manhours off the cost of making one of these. As a result, I can sell this version for $15 - $20 less than the Deluxe version. This tool can be used to push flakes the size of which a knapper could never achieve with normal pressure flaking. In addition it will allow knappers with functional limitations such as poor grip, nerve and muscle tissue atropy to continue to pressure flake reproductions. This tool is EXTREMELY easy to get started with. After taking 10 minutes or so to anchor the tool to a steady surface, the user can be using it to knap after only 10 - 15 minutes of practice. And with continued practice the user will quickly learn to use this tool to push off flakes with much greater ease and with much greater consistency than ever before.
