For sale is a beautiful handmade fighter kite . THIS KITE IS A COPY OF A KITE GIVEN TO ME BY MASTERBUILDER ABDUL RAUF FROM MUMBAI, INDIA. I have placed the original red tissue paper kite side by side to the kite I built. Extra care has been taken in order to fold in the hem in the trailing edge of the kite I had to carefully cut the icarex in 3 different places and then put a small reinforcement This is the only way I could duplicate the sharp curve of the original kite and still keep the sail flat without creases . It is very similar to the kites in the "Kite Runner" movie. The kite is made ICAREX, a coated ripstop polyester. This kite too, like all the kites I build, has icarex pockets at thewingtips for additional strength. Bow is 0.06 carbon fiber T he spine is made from flat carbon fiber strip 5mm X 1mm. It is 18" 5/8" long. Wingspan is 23" wide Battens are 0.03" round carbon fiber Ideal wind : 1 - 15 mph. The kite has a 3 point fully adjustable bridle, and an adjustable spine tensioner. Pleasenote that the perimeter of the kite is neatly hemmed in and glued in with contact cement in order to provide additional strength. I have test flown this kite and it flies straight and tracks perfectly.
