This is an Antique Handmade Primitive Miniature Shaker Coopered Firkin or Sugar Bucket, from New England circa early 1800s. This Small Primitive Antique Shaker Firkin is made of pine and has a bailed wire handle with wooden grip that is attached to the sides of this darling miniature furkin. The bands show the original copper nails with beautiful tapered fingers. You can see some of the remains of green paint, a fine repair on the small handled side of the firkin, and dryed maple sap that has hardened in the inside bottom of the sugar bucket. The Handmade Sugar Firkin is well over 150 years! The Darling Little Primitive Shaker Antique Firkin is double banded with bentwood bands that show the original antique nails. The Antique Primitive Shaker Pine Firkin is in excellent condition and has aged appropriate worn and weathered patina. The Antique Handmade Shaker Sugar Bucket is strong and tight. The Antique Handmade Primitive Shaker Coopered Firkin or Sugar Bucket is 7 inch in height without the handle and 7 inches wide at the bottom. The lid of the small firkin measures 6 inches. The circumference at the widest part of the Antique Firkin is 22 inches. This is an Early Americana Primitive.
